5 Beginner Mistakes in Flight Simulator Games (and the Fixes)

If landings keep going badly, one of these five habits is probably why.

1. Descending too steeply

A steep, fast descent leaves almost no room to correct before touchdown. Start descending earlier at a gentler angle instead.

2. Flying too slowly on approach

Slowing down too much risks a stall right when you need the most control. Keep a small speed buffer above the stall threshold.

3. Ignoring crosswind drift

Wind pushes the aircraft sideways during approach; not correcting for it early means fighting a bigger correction right before landing.

4. Overcorrecting small altitude changes

Big stick or key inputs for small altitude errors tend to overshoot. Small, held corrections work better than sharp jabs.

5. Focusing only on the runway, not your speed

Fixating on the landing spot while ignoring your airspeed indicator is a common way to stall unexpectedly on final approach.
